Unable to connect to MySQL Server

I am trying to install osticket on a server running apache, mysql and php. All packages are up to date, this is a Fedora 8 server. I have a couple of other sites using mysql and all of them are connecting fine, and operating fine. But when I run the install process it says unable to connect to MySQL server, Possibly invalid login info.

I have tried this several times and just can't get it to work. I have used both localhost and the IP address. I have tried more than one user name and password combination. Nothing seems to work. :

Ok, it ended up that I created another user with from host any instead of from host default and used the IP address and it works fine. This is a little unsecure, but I guess it will work. I know I could make the password stronger, but then I'm not sure how I could change the sql password on osticket after I canged it in mysql.

You can update the password in ostconfig.php
