Problems using UTF-8 caracters

Hello,

I'm trying to use osT with brazilian portuguese caracters, and I'm having some dificulty.

When I install the database with utf8_unicode collation, when I write a special caracter, like á, or ã, ou ç, I have my text cut, and the rest of the phrase doesn't appear.

When I use utf8_general_ci, the special caracters appear as ???.

Do you have any clue on how can I fix that?

Hi,

I have modified the pop3 Class, because of the same problem (at the first special character the rest of the message was dropped).

Try my modified Version:

Currently I have no further problems.

But I'm not only having the problem using e-mail, it's on the ticket messages and titles as well.

I'm going to see wich modifications you made on the pop3 archive and try to solve the problem.

Repeating, I'm using UTF-8, unicode, or general_ci, it cuts the text line on the special caracter and doesn't show the rest of it.

For example, if I write in portugues, "Luz, camera, ação", it only show "Luz, camera, a"

So, if someone knows how can I fix it, it would be very helpful.

This way help me too. Now i use Czech chars and problem is out.

Some words for other Czech people about problem:

tohle pomohlo i me, prekopirovat soubor class pop3.php. Stacilo jen jednoduse prekopirovat s prejmenovanim a jelo to.Nic se neupravuje.

drive se nezobrazily v Ticketu ceske znaky (pismena s hacka a carky)

Thank you, i have the exactly same issue, everything works fine, but sent email title is garbled if has accents.

edit /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini did the trick, thanks a bunch.

Didn't work, but i've found a solution

edit //include/pear/Mail/mime.php, and replace ISO-8859-1 by UTF-8 around line 187

'html_charset' => 'UTF-8',

'text_charset' => 'UTF-8',

'head_charset' => 'UTF-8'
