I have had a number of spam emails in my ticket queue.
I've added the email addresses to the spam list but emails are still coming in from that email address.
Most of the time, the sender email is spoofed so the ticket system sends a ticket confirmation email which bounces then the ticket system issues another email confirmation which bounces.. rinse and repeat. You get the idea.
There MUST be some sort of bounce protection built into this.
This ticket system has chewed through over 600GB of SMTP traffic within 1 month because of lack of bounce email protection.
Blocking the email address in the system is one thing but that doesn't and hasn't stopped the same spammers using a different email address which is still causing the same bounce storm.
I've blocked the emails at email provider level and yet this is still an issue as outlined above.
Yes I have paused the system from polling for new emails, deleted the offending emails at server level but it doesn't take long for more spam emails to pop back into the system and the same thing happens all over again.
At this point, I have to look for an alternative solution because I am getting a lot of hassle from my staff, wasting a lot of time managing bounced email tickets and customers complaining about the length of time staff are taking to reply to emails, most of which is dealing with bounce storms.
Also, I CANNOT cope with chewing through my monthly bandwidth allowance from my hosting provider because of a simple issue that STILL hasn't been resolved in osTicket.
