Where can I view more in-depth error messages for my self hosted instance?

Self hosted on ubuntu, apache2, php8.4
I am having issues connecting my email address for outgoing emails. I will go through the configuration process, sign into the mailbox, osTicket shows green with some sort of success message and then I try to send an email and it will give me a "unknown error".

So, where can i go to view more in-depth error logs for this? I am new to linux / osTicket

You can enable DEBUG log level (Admin Panel > Settings > System > Default Log Level) to see if that logs anything helpful in the system logs (Admin Panel > Dashboard > System Logs). Other than that you just need to check the various other logs (general server logs, webserver error logs, PHP error logs, MySQL/MariaDB error logs, Browser Console logs, etc.) for any related errors.
