Lost File Attachments after upgrade from version 1.15.5 to 1.18.2

Hi,

I updated version 1.15.5 to version 1.18.2, and everything seemed to be good, but when my techs went to download attachments, they could see the attachment, click on the attachment, and save the attachment, but it did not save anything. I went to the file attachment plugin, and it showed an error of (Defunct--Missing).

When I upgraded, I left the attachment files folder intact. Was that correct?
I am running 8.1 PHP
I did not want to blindly delete the File Attachment plugin and reinstall it since I don't know if that will cause more problems. How do I resolve this?

Couple of things:

v1.18.2 only supports PHP 8.2-8.4. So you definitely need to upgrade PHP to avoid serious issues moving forward.
Every time you upgrade osTicket you must also upgrade the plugins. In this case you need to download the latest build of the Attachments on the Filesystem plugin and replace the old one with the new one (ie. within the include/plugins/ folder).

Thank you. Noted the plugin issue.
I updated to 8.3.

In this case, I forgot the plugin was deleted with the other files not required when upgrading. When I added the old file attachment plugin, it crashed the help desk. I downloaded the one for this 1.18.2 version, and everything started working correctly.
