Apache, PHP, and OpenSSL Compatibility Check for Upgrade

Recently, my cybersecurity department has been asking me to update Apache, PHP, and OpenSSL on my OSTicket server, but they are running on XAMPP on a Windows Server 2022.
I currently have the following versions:
XAMPP 8.2.4-0
Apache 2.4.56
Apache Lounge VS16
PHP 8.2.12
OpenSSL 1.1.1t

Is it possible to upgrade to Apache 2.4.59, PHP 8.2.28, and OpenSSL 1.1.1w or higher without affecting the operation of OSTicket version 1.18.x?

Yea, Apache version never really matters and the OpenSSL version isn’t necessarily a problem unless it affects PHP. As for PHP, the latest version of osTicket (v1.18.2) supports PHP 8.2-8.4 with 8.4 being recommended.

KevinTheJedi I updated my Apache to 2.4.65, downloaded from apachelounge.com, but when I start it with my XAMPP, my OSTICKET opens but doesn't allow me to log in with AD accounts. It stays on "Validating" without throwing any kind of error, except in the network section where I get a 500 error.I saw that the latest version offered by XAMPP is Apache 2.4.58, and according to help forums, installing a higher version can cause incompatibility with XAMPP modules and configuration.Based on your experience, is this information true? Is there a way to fix it? Or do I have to stick with the version offered by XAMPP, Apache 2.4.58 at the most?
I saw the same thing with PHP: XAMPP only offers 8.2.12 in its latest version.

Well, I never recommend XAMPP or anything like that for production setups. As you see they can be limiting and cause discrepancies when upgrading core components. Unfortunately I’m not super familiar with XAMPP so I won’t be of much help here. I would recommend seeking out a XAMPP support forum, etc. for further assistance with XAMPP. As far as our software goes upgrading Apache and PHP should be no issue.
