Database migration

I have a very old active installation of OST V1.12.2. I need to update this to latest as I am moving to PHP8.
The reason I have not updated is that I made a bunch of php changes to suit my application and I didn't want to re-do these but now I have to. So my question is how to migrate the database from V1.12 to V1.17?

Note: If you have any plugins installed make sure the latest builds of the plugins are in the plugin directory BEFORE triggering the upgrade.

Thanks. However, this link implies that migration from V1.12 to V1.16 is not currently supported. It says: "We plan on supporting data migration from previous discontinued versions of osTicket as well as 3rd party help desks in the near future"
..or did I misunderstand?

Huh..? You can upgrade from 1.6 (circa 2006-2008) all the way to 1.18.x (latest). You must be misinterpreting the documentation.

Ah yes - sorry. Where it said "Only previous versions from version 1.6 RC1 can be upgraded " I misread it as 1.16!
My bad. Thanks for your help.
