Debug logging with IIS

I have ran osTicket in the past with Apache and no issues, yesterday I deceived to try running osTicket 1.18 on IIS but ran into issues trying to send e-mails from the Diagnostics. No error appears but the screen looks to refresh when I click on send message. I figured, lets check the logs and I would enable debug in osTicket and try again....the only thing that the debug log seems to capture is the login events - nothing else. Is this a configuration issue with IIS or an issue with osTicket?

Debug wouldn't track that. You'd only get an Error if the connection failed or something. You'd need to check the mailserver logs to see if a connection attempt was made, etc. If you don't see any attempt on the mailserver end then you know the issue is somewhere on the server like blocked port, etc.

KevinTheJedi thanks, I will look into the smtp logs, thanks good to know. I did just change the smtp server to something that would cause it not to work and I did get an error right when I tried to save it.

Would the website say Sent or anything, I can't recall.

KevinTheJedi ok, so I may have found a bug. Did you know that if you do not type in a message in the Diagnostics field and just select the FROM and TO with a Subject line, the screen flashes and you have no idea what happened? After reviewing the SMTP logs and checking both the php.ini file and the SMTP settings under the email and still not seeing anything causing the issue I just so happened to hit tab type in a few characters and hit Send Message and I then received the Successful message.

So it looks like you MUST put a message before clicking send or it will not send a test e-mail nor provide an error message saying that field is blank.

I see, yea there should be an error there; we will look into this. But yes, a message is required in order for it to send - there should be an error being thrown but it's not for whatever reason.
