I want to group tickets by category. I have created different "help topics", but they are not useful for what I need.
I need that when a user creates a ticket, they can choose the ticket type and each type is grouped in its category.
But in this version of osticket there is no ticket categories plugin.

    Sounds like you need to create custom lists per help topic, create custom forms for each help topic, adding the needed custom lists to the respective custom forms, then attach those custom forms to Help Topics. Then when the user/agent selects a Help Topics a list will appear with only options from that certain list.

      You will need to either modify the language pack (which is difficult) or modify the codebase. With either option you are on your own. When modifying the codebase you are always on your own as you are deviating from core. You will proceed at your own risk. Good luck!
