The code is open source so you can do almost anything to it. When modifying the codebase you are on your own as you are deviating from core. Just a warning, when using 3rd party plugins you limit yourself from doing normal upgrade cycles, etc. as you have to wait for the modder to update their plugin before you can upgrade.
Also, we do not recommend any 3rd party plugins as we did not develop them, did not review them, did not approve them, and do not maintain them. So use them at your own risk.
