Hello!

I want (and might make) a feature where Tasks (or tickets) have Subtasks. When you create a Task, there should be an Auto-Assigner feature or something similar (maybe through a template feature or something) where it creates subtasks and assigns them to the correct agent.

Any info about why this feature hasn't been created already, any context behind it, etc. would be appreciated. I saw some discussion earlier that was somewhat about this, where the idea was thrown out.
And is there someone that has created a mod, for instance, which does this same thing for tasks or tickets?

I could use any info. Thank you!

    This is what we call Canned Tasks and it was actually started by a previous employee but never completed before they departed. We do hope to revamp this feature in v2.0 so stay tuned!

    You can create a pull request to the main repo however I will be transparent and say that it will not be accepted. The current (legacy) codebase is in maintenance mode whilst we focus on v2.0. This simply means we are not merging any new major features.

    You are more than welcome to mod your instance to your liking as the code is open source. Just note, if you do create a mod then you cannot post it here nor advertise it here as this Forum is for core osTicket and core osTicket plugins only. Any advertisements or posts about mods will be removed.

          KevinTheJedi Awesome. I really appreciate the prompt reply. I noticed from your link to the PR that the feature didn't get pulled to main. I also took a look at the osTicket 2.0 Project backlog and noticed that there are no tasks for the Canned Tasks idea. Part of me is curious if the Canned Tasks feature is going to be implemented in v2.0 because there may be bigger fish to fry, but I am more curious about when v2.0 gets released so I can try it out and/or contribute to the project that's being actively developed and accepting contributions. Ballpark, do you have a rough idea of when the v2.0 release will go open source?
