Trouble with LDAP lookup

I've installed and configured the plugin "LDAP Authentication and Lookup".
For my own account the auth works fine (didn't add more than me).
But when I create a new ticket I can search names in the Active Directory but when I select one of the found names from the list nothing happens. Is it a bug or isn't this function available?

Since you are using PHP 8.2 you will need to unpack the plugin and apply these changes:

Then apply this to the core codebase:

Is there a plan to release an updated version of the plugin?
or a php 8.2 specific version of the plugin?

I don't feel that most people would be comfortable doing something like this.
