URL issue in form filed help text

We have and internal app that contains a list of links to resources and applications that users use on a daily basis.
This app has been registered under a custom URL, for example duck:// opens the application in any browser.

The issue is that when I try to add a hyperlink in OST, it appends the URL with denied:duck://
Is that expected behaviour and is there a way to disable this?

Yes that’s expected. That is not a whitelisted URI scheme so it gets denied by the sanitizer. You would need to modify the codebase to accomplish what you are looking for. When modifying the codebase you are always on your own as you are deviating from core. You will proceed at your own risk. Good luck!

Hi Kevin, thanks for the prompt response. Do you think this is something that could be implemented in the future or is this a relatively niche problem?

Maybe something that will be configurable in the future but at this time it's a very small and specific edge-case.

For completeness and in case someone else is looking for a workaround in the mean time, here is the solution.
Please note, as stated above, this is not an official fix and you are on your own if you carry out this modification!

To whitelist another URI scheme, edit the following file with your custom uri: include/class.format.php -> Line 351
'schemes' => 'href: aim, duck, feed, file, ftp, gopher, http, https, irc, mailto, news, nntp, sftp, ssh, telnet; *:file, http, https; src: cid, http, https, data',
