Ticket creation from Discord

Is there a way to connect Discord to osTicket for creation of new tickets? The API documentation suggests you need to tie an API token to a fixed source IP address which Discord doesn't have.

The idea is Discord users can create support tickets that are added to a support ticket system with osTicket.

You are correct, the API requires API Keys that are tied to individual IP addresses. If the requests coming from Discord have random IPs then it’s not a good option. An alternative would be if Discord could send emails then you could do it that way.

ok thanks for the quick reply. I think Discord has email options. I see there are also OAuth options also for user login.

With the email option, does the email need to be formatted in a specific way?

Nope just a plain ole email. You would either send it to an address that you configure fetching for (IMAP or POP3) or you can pipe it remotely/locally. With fetching make sure you setup a cron job so mail is automatically fetched on a set schedule.
