Hi, everyone I am new to osTicket and I would like to ask some help on how to set up the email functions. Im using v1.18.1 and can’t seem to find any documentation on setting up emails related to this version. Although I have read other documentations and followed the old configuration of our Helpdesk, I don’t understand why I keep getting error which is “Unable to email via Sendmail Unable to send mail: Unknown error” . Do I need to make changes in php.ini ? Also, in previous threads some people mentioned about sendmail? Do i need to download it ? Aside from the diagnostic tab, how else can I test if the emails im trying to send is sending? I would like to know the difference between PHP Mail function and SMTP . I noticed in the old configuration of our osticket , they used PHP Mail function as the default MTA and I check the configuration of the email>remote mailbox using the SMTP function . Aren't they supposed to be the same? Also, I have already installed SSL certificate, what else I’m missing ? . Im no programming experts and still trying to learn things so I hope you guys could help me . Thank you .
