PHP version

Hi,
I am currently running osTicket on Debian 10 with PHP 8.3 which was installed using the Sury repo. I will be migrating the server to Debian 12. Do you recommend using the Sury repo and install PHP 8.3 or go with the Debian repo that currently offers PHP 8.2?

I am not sure how soon your team will require PHP 8.3 as minimum requirement.

Please advise.

8.3 won’t be a minimum for a longgg time; unless there is a breaking change that requires such. So far I haven’t seen any errors with 8.3 but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any. If you use 8.3 do so at your own risk. The current fully supported PHP versions for 1.18.x are 8.1-8.2. We are aiming to add full 8.3 support in the next release. Again, there might not be any changes that need to be made however in order for us to say it’s fully supported we have to test it, review their change logs, etc.

Thanks @KevinTheJedi if "lonngg time" = 1 or 2 years then I will install PHP 8.2 lol I didn't want to install 8.2 and then have to upgrade it to 8.3 in a month or so lol
