I have identified the root cause of the issue and how to "fix" it (or at least work around it).
The email address of my collector has aliases.
Here are the tests I conducted:
- When an email is sent by an unknown user to the collector's alias, collaborators are not added to the ticket.
- When an email is sent by an unknown user to the original address, collaborators are properly added to the ticket.
- When an email is sent by a user within my domain to the collector's alias, collaborators are properly added to the ticket.
Naively, I attempted to add a second collector with the alias of my main address, as shown in the screenshot below:
I only filled in the "email address" and "email name" fields. I did not fill in the "Remote Mailbox" and "Outgoing (SMTP)" tabs.
By doing this, when an email is sent by an unknown user to the alias of the collector, collaborators are properly added to the ticket!
I'm not sure if I've been clear, but I hope this information can assist some individuals.
