Response required

Greetings!
Ubuntu Server 22.04
osTIcket (v1.17.3)
I wish to change the 'Response required setting' to be not-required. For example, edit a ticket to add a period to the end of a sentence, or something just as simple, not requiring an explanation or reason, I just want to add the small detail and 'Post the reply' without having to add a Required response of; 'I simply added a period to the end of the sentence' or entering an additional period in the Response section, just to be able to close the ticket. I assumed this was somewhere in a .php file that just needed to be changed from 'required' to 'optional' but that does not appear to be the case.

tschmid4 you could comment out 4 lines to achieve this.

in include/class.thread.php
2991: // elseif (!$vars['response'])

edit: you could also leave the canned responses on, then create a canned response template and just write sth like: "no content" or whatever in it.
You would still need to modify the code to where it picks this answer by standard.
