Hi osTicket,

You guys must be popular! A lot of our users install your software. I know because we get emails from them with the following header:

X-Mailer: osTicket v 1.6

One problem -- we regularly send emails to our users. When these emails reach them, their osTicket installation appears to open a support ticket and automatically sends an email back to us. Unfortunately, those emails do not have any indication that they were automatically generated, so we open a ticket on our end and reply with another email. And we get caught in an infinite email loop. This causes a lot of headache both for us and our users.

It would be great if you can add support for the Auto-Submitted header field:

1. When sending emails out from osTicket, for auto-generated emails, include the Auto-Submitted header so that the recipient email system (like ours) knows that the email is auto-generated, and can take the appropriate action, such as not auto-reply to an auto-generated email.

2. When receiving emails into osTicket, check for the Auto-Submitted header set by the sender (again, like ours) and do not respond to an auto-generated email.

The Auto-submitted header and values are defined here:

Thanks for taking the feedback and hope to see this implemented soon!

This is already a part of 1.7.
