Socket Errors on Email Edit

Just recently upgraded from 1.17.2 to 1.17.3 due to OAuth2 tokens not updating.

Had to delete and recreate an email and the IMAP config and I see the token is updated and valid.

When I save the email settings, I get:

cannot connect to host ; error = fsockopen(): Unable to connect to ssl://outlook.office365.com:993 (Connection timed out) (errno = 0 )

I've attached my settings and the error itself.

System is not fetching emails.

Any help would be appreciated.

Simply unable to connect. Check your firewall, see if the port is open, etc. I would suggest you doing a telnet from the server's cli to see if it can actually connect and go from there.

Thanks Kevin, CLI not possible on this server (GoDaddy Linux).

No changes have been made on the server or config, and that the token updates,
made me think that all mail functions would work, but tokens and mail are likely
separate code so even though we have a valid token, this error seems to indicate
that the token doesn't matter, we don't even get to use it.

So port 993 has been open and used for several months, and nothing has changed
on our config. The lack of activity on tickets led me to check the token, which was
expired.

Time to migrate away from goDaddy.

I would definitely reach out to godaddy and say that the server can’t connect to outlook.office365.com on port 993. They usually have security rules and restrictions on these things. If you didn’t change anything it sounds like GoDaddy did.

After spending too much time on this, the problem was not osTicket, goDaddy, or Office365.

The server's IP has been blacklisted because of spam.

I'd guess the only solution is moving the install to another server, new cert, DNS changes,
all kinds of fun.
