Unable to Put Images in Tickets

Hello all,

after updating from version 1.17.1 to version 1.17.3 / Patch 1, unfortunately I can no longer attach images in tickets.
Old images, from already created tickets are still displayed.

I have seen this error on several forums, but never with an adequate solution.

A complete reinstallation of OSTicket is out of the question for us, we have already processed too many tickets.

Funnily enough, the error also occurs when I want to install the "OSTicket Awesome" theme, for example.

With version 1.17.1 everything worked without problems. I noticed the error because I wanted to switch to OSTicket Awesome.

Since this did not work, I tried the update 1.17.3, with the same result.

Hi Kevin,

I don't think this is a duplicate cause the github link youve posted is for Version "osTicket:1.16.x". We are facing this issue in 1.17.

"This addresses an issue where uploading a file throws an Invalid File error"
I don't get any error messages while uploading the picture. It just looks like its uploaded successfully, but than only the little Icon with Image is shown like ive posted it in my first comment.

If this is the same issue, what do I need to do to fix it?
Just looked up the "class.forms.php" and did not even found the Syntax youve posted:

Found the lines and made the changes you have suggested on github.

Just tested it, with the code the issue still exsists:

Patch is still relevant though. We support two versions at a time (currently 1.16.x and 1.17.x). Since the issue is present in both supported versions we make a patch for 1.16.x that then gets merged into 1.17.x so still applies here.

That means the content of the inline image can’t be loaded for whatever reason. You need to look at your logs (general server logs, webserver error logs, PHP error logs, MySQL/MariaDB error logs, osTicket System Logs, Browser Console logs, etc.) for any related errors.

Okay, thanks for the Info. Ill take a look in my HeidiSQL and Webserver logs.
Can you tell me when the patch for 1.17.X will be released? Is there already a time frame?

It’s available in GitHub for you to apply manually. Otherwise it will be included in the next release.

what do I need to do to add it manually?
Like my screenshots show, I already tried modifing the include/class.forms.php with the code shown at Github. But it does not work.

Then the issue is not related to that. The way you initially described it sounded like you couldn’t upload attachments. This is simply can’t display inline images. You will need to review your logs for any related errors.
