php manage.php file migrate --backend D --to F

Has anyone got this to work? I'm running it, and nothing is happening. Speaking to hosts as I might not have the ability to actually run anything.

I looked at the manage.php file directly and found "php manage.php --help" which does nothing too.

I have 63GB of attachments in the DB, and want to move to file system, then sort something to removed these files if no longer needed (delete ticket) or if a year old say..

You need to make sure you CD to the osTicket directory before running the command or provide the full path to the file. Yes it works, we use it all the time.

I'm back here again! but running v1.18.1 after finally migrating all our sites off the server and on to a newer one.

if i run that code ( php manage.php file migrate --backend D --to F ) in /public_html/ where the manage.php file is, I get :

WARNING: MYSQL_OPT_RECONNECT is deprecated and will be removed in a future version.

I've got the file system plugin installed, has been for years.. but we have about 10k tickets, back to 2016, and some of the attachments are in the DB, but I also want to delete the tickets and attachments, and reading the other threads, that's a still a manual thing - 50 tickets at a time!!!!!!!!!!!

Simply a warning that you can ignore. As long as it says “migrated x of x files” you should be good.

Yes, ticket deletion is manual as it’s permanent. You can increase your page size limit in your profile to delete more at a time. You can also write a script or SQL statements but I wouldn’t recommend this route as you’d have to learn how all data and tables connect to each other and ensure you delete all associated records to avoid issues and errors down the line.
