Can't Upgrade To 1.17.2

I simply can't upgrade from 1.16.15 to 1.17.2
When I copy over all files and try to log in, I get the logon screen, but it does not accept any user. No LDAP, nor a local admin user. Therefore, I can't start the upgrade.

Server-Software Apache/2.4.54 (Debian)
MySQL-Version 10.5.18
PHP-Version 8.0.24 (Tried it with 8.1 as well)

Plugins: LDAP & HTTP Passthru Authentication

Apache error log is empty (I already enabled error reporting in bootstrap.php

Any idea?

Make sure you are uploading the new builds of the plugins before upgrading. Also, it’s always a good idea to have a local admin login available for upgrades as in cases like this the authentication backend and such has changed which requires plugin upgrades and database changes to address.

Long story short, revert back, create a local admin login, replace the code, upload new plugins, login with local info, run the upgrader, and you should be good.

that's exactly what I did.
But I can't log in with the local user with the 1.17.2 files - When I revert back to the 1.16.15 folder, logging in is no problem at all.
ACL is also deactivated - but I always get a "access denied"

Just fixed it!
in the DB table "ost_staff" on the local admin user I had {"browser_lang":"de"} under extra - Which was different to all others.
I've changed it to {"def_assn_role":true,"browser_lang":"de"} like the others and now it is working
