What should I know before upgrading v1.10 -> v1.17

Hi,

I'm tasked with upgrading a v1.10 osTicket instance to v1.17. I have a database dump and an archive of the existing source code files.

Before going on with deploying the updated source code and visiting the /scp page to trigger the upgrader is there anything you would advise me to do ?

My concern is that if things go south, how to analyse and figure out what goes wrong ?

You should upload the new code PLUS the new builds of any plugins you have currently installed. Do this before you upgrade otherwise any plugins currently installed will have issues that will be hell to fix.

Thanks you for your advice. I totaly missed the plugins part !

I'm totaly new to osTickets, what should I look for to identify the eventually installed plugins ?

You can either look at:
Admin panel -> Manage -> Plugins to see what plugins are installed

Or look at your site/include/plugins

Thank you ntozier , this makes things easier as I see no plugin installed in my instance.

Based on what you have, (and do not have) you should be good to upgrade.
I personally like making a test site and upgrading it instead of the production site. That way if I break anything I just delete the test site after figuring out why it failed.
