Update 1.15.x to -- ?

Hello,
are there any issues in updating osTicket from version 1.15.x to the latest one available (1.17.x)?
Moreover, I'm not sure if I need to do that... since I've installed it on my own local network and I'm not interested in just security updates.

It's way more than just security updates. You can look at all the Release Notes on Github to see what changed as there is a LOT. Yes, you can upgrade from 1.15.x straight to 1.17.x with no issues. To note, you will need to install the latest builds of plugins that you currently have installed before running the upgrader.
