Hello everyone, i have a bit of a problem.. so i decided to upgrade from 1.16r3 to 1.16.5, this whent off without any problem and then the new oauth function of 1.17 caught my eye and from what i read it should be possible to upgrade to 1.17 on my current install. With me already having a full backup of my install i decided to give it a shot...error 500, no worries i go back to my backup and sure enough the backup works....except the images are all gone? trying to look up where they are stored (i use the file storage plugin) and i only get a key and signature but no file location...so how screwed am i? in the /filemanager (the folder i defined in the plugin) i do have several folders but they are empty...
so my questions are:
1 can i retrieve the images?
2 can i upgrade from 1.16 to 1.17?

any help is appriciated 🙂

Your images/attachments shouldn’t have been touched by the upgrader at all so you probably overwrote those files/folders or something when uploading the new code. If you don’t have a backup of the original files then you might have lost them.

As far as the 500 error you probably didn’t upgrade PHP to 8.0 or 8.1 before trying to visit the site (with the updated files). 500 is a generic error and is indicative of a deeper issue that should be logged in one of your log files (general server logs, webserver error logs, PHP error logs, MySQL/MariaDB error logs, osTicket System Logs, Browser Console logs, etc.).

    Cheers.
