Password Protection

Hello,

I am looking to replace the Client login system with a email and password. I find the ticket number login to be inefficient since I work with multiple repeat clients and companies.

I have created a company database and a client database similar to the team database and the staff database, respectively. Adjusting the login has proven to be quite tough without a ticket number. Any previous mods or suggestions would be quite helpful.

I cannot think of any mods that do anything like what your looking for. If you run LDAP/AD you may be able to use http://www.osticket.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15470(http://www.osticket.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15470) and some custom changes. There was something for 1.6ST I think.

Also there has been talk about adding this sort of functionality to future versions of osTicket, I'm not sure what form it will take or when however.

I have some ideas but they are slowly developing.

For instance, I have created a function called "findMostRecent" which finds the most recent ticket associated with the client and *should use that ticket number as the original login ticket number after going through a simple password check. Currently, I am trying to figure out how to automatically change the most_recent value in the database and have that operate as the ticketID and the ticket_id.
