Is it possible to use an existing database with a fresh OSTicket project?
I am asking this because I have a lot of templates, and tickets in the older database and now, I want to install the latest OSTicket version.
What would be the procedure? Should I create an empty database and after the installation is finished, I should use old database credentials? (I tried this but this isn't working )

FahiemNz Yes its very possible and a lot of people on here do it for the same reason. I would follow the migration instructions as the Devs here point other people to them from what I have seen.

I have not done it myself, but when 2.0 eventually comes out its what I plan on doing.
I personally take a copy of my database every time and upgrade the copy every time.
He’s saying he duplicates the database in MySQL (with the data) and upgrades the duplicate every time. So he has a full copy of his database that’s unaffected just in case he needs to easily revert back.
