Hello,

Trying to upgrade to the latest version and the upgrader failed with this error:

Fatal error:
Cannot make non static method Plugin::getInstance() static
in class AttachmentPreviewPlugin
in /home/site/wwwroot/include/plugins/attachment_preview/class.AttachmentPreviewPlugin.php on line 83

Also that is a 3rd party plugin that is likely not updated to use the new plugin backend. You will likely have to delete the plugin to proceed. You’ll then need to contact the makers of the 3rd party plugin and have them update their code.

I think I figured it out myself - The progress indicator on the upgrade form is broken, The actual process takes a lot longer than indicated. i just waited 10 minutes between clicks and it worked.

I emptied out the plugin folder but cannot delete the plugins from the GUI because it throws another PHP error

As I said you must delete it before the upgrade however since you ran the upgrader without deleting it you now have to delete it from the plugin and plugin_instance table.
