All upgrade attempts 1.14 to 1.17 = http error 500

Im trying to upgrade from 1.14 to 1.17 on Windows.
Whatever I try results in http error 500 not allowing me to to start the web bases upgrade script.

Before every attempt below I have reverted back the server to the working 1.14 version.

I have tried, after disabling all plugins in the working 1.14 version:

Uploading 1.17 files, overwriting 1.14 files, keeping ost-config.php intact = http error 500
Changing php from version 5.6 to 8.0.24 (and also to 8.1.11) on existing 1.14 version = http error 500
Changing php version to 8.x AND uploading the 1.17 files = http error 500

Help please.

Same for me, from 1.15.x to 1.16.3 No errors, 100% works. Switching from php7.4 to php8.0 (both last versions). When I try to upgrade to 1.17, also for me error 500 (in log apache some PHP error for Class or file not found) .... seems strange

Im not really sure which logs are related?

Do I need to upgrade to PHP 8.x before replacing the files with the 1.17 version?

I noticed there was en error running php.exe (version 7.4 and 8.x) in command line and that was fixed after installing a compatible version of Visual C++ Redist 2022 for WIndows.

I also tried to upgrade to PHP version 7.4 and then 1.14 works, but as soon as a upload the 1.17 files: error 500.

If I upgrade to PHP version 8.x then I cannot even load the 1.14 version: error 500.

These dll-files exist in the other version of PHP that seem to work (5.6 and 7.4). But they are missing in the 8.1.11 version.
Am I using wrong download of PHP or where should I get thoses dll-files from?

I'll keep posting my findings. Feel free to add your thoughts.

Seems like these files has been renamed in PHP version 8 and forward and that php.ini needs to be adjusted. Gonna try to figure out how...

Ok so suddenly it started working... I dont really know why. I examined the PHP error logs and played with the php.ini and restarted IIS.
