Email Fetching error

Hi all, I have an issue with my osTicket. all tickets coming from email will delayed more than 10 minutes and I have set auto refresh of tickets page every minute. I check the log and found the below error. Does someone can help me to fix this issue.
Error:
osTicket is having trouble fetching emails from the following mail account: User: my.email@domain.com Host: outlook.office365.com Error: Can not authenticate to IMAP server: AUTHENTICATE failed. 5 consecutive errors. Maximum of 5 allowed This could be connection issues related to the mail server. Next delayed login attempt in aprox. 10 minutes

Judging by the error you either have the login info incorrect or your account has Modern Auth enabled in which you can do two things:

Setup 2FA, create an App Password, and use the App Password as the password for the email in osTicket.
Re-instate basic authentication (scroll to the Self-Service section) - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange-team-blog/basic-authentication-and-exchange-online-june-2021-update/bc-p/2599824

v1.17 will be stable pretty soon which will have Modern Auth support built-in.

having the same exact issue on all 3 of my email accounts to O365. all starting at around 5a today. I've tried rotating the app password on one of the accounts with no success. I'm not sure if this is on the MS side or not... but thought I'd throw out a "me too" while I investigate and troubleshoot.

Having the same issue as the above person. After seting up an app password, osticket says "AUTHENTICATE failed.

Then you will need Option #2 or contact your mail provider.

KevinTheJedi Option two worked for me for now, but per Microsoft come October 1st, it'll be permanently disabled.

No, v1.17.

No, it will use Modern Auth (OAuth2) via IMAP/POP and SMTP protocols.
