Applying updates to database stream: core - Fails

I'm looking at installing 1.17.x RC. I have my server pointing to PHP 8.0. I get to the upgrader screen. When I hit Upgrade Now on the "Applying updates to database stream: core" screen it gives me a popup that says it failed and is rolling back.

Are there logs or something somewhere I can look at to understand why it's failing?

You can check the System Logs for any upgrader errors.

Had the same issue. I just ran the upgrader many times until I got it working.

That's interesting. You just kept clicking it over and over until it worked?

I did end up figuring out my issue here. I forgot to copy the newer versions of my plugins into the freshly copied plugins folder. When I did this the upgrader worked perfectly.

When upgrading you will always want to upgrade the plugins at the same time.
OR
Disable them all prior to upgrading. Be careful that if you have an authentication plugin make sure that you know your local password for an account with admin checked.
