upgrading from 1.6 ST to 1.7

I want to upgrade from 1.6 ST to 1.7

Can I simply delete ALL files (not the sql data base) and FTP all the 1.7 files to my server ... copy the settings file from 1.6ST into the 1.7 new upload folder in the right place ..

then run setup?

will that work? (I like clean installs)

Yes that should work.
