Convert all tables to InnoDB. If that doesn't help then you will need to search for the older threads where a patch was presented for Queue Counts.

Hi Kevin When we change to InnoDB CPU usage is very high and it is not even open. Then we revert ost_department table to MyISAM it started working. BUt still very slow.
Weird as InnoDB provides way better performance. And many people have converted to InnoDB and said slowness went away. Regardless you need to apply this patch as it will help relieve slowness.
