As of 30th May 2022 Google have discontinued using insecure app passwords to authenticate, which was require to bypass their requirement for 2-step authentication.

I can no longer retrieve emails from gmail account using imap details.

Any suggestions?

You can do that currently. Just enable 2FA, create an app password, and use that as the password in osTicket email settings.

We hope to have v1.17-rc1 released next week which includes OAuth2.0 (modern authentication) support.

    Cheers.

I can still use app passwords to bypass OAuth so maybe double check your settings or contact gmail to see what’s going on with your account.

    Cheers.

KevinTheJedi If we're trying to setup new Gmail accounts, they won't permit simple authentication-- I can't authenticate at all thru OST. Is there any workaround for 2-factor or app passwords in the future? Really appreciate all the great feedback.

2FA and app password didn't work for me.
      Error persist:
authentication failure [SMTP: SMTP server does not support authentication (code: -1, response: )]
