Email login does not work, but AD username does

So I dont remember how this broke and was fixed last time this happened to me, but can someone tell me which log ( is it just the Apache log) file to look at to see what the error is saying when someone logging in gets "Access Denied"? If a user or agent attempts to log in with their user account it works, however if they attempt to use the email address tied to that user account they get access denied.

edit--- So I know its not the regular Apache log. Thats actually empty.

Depends, if it's an actual error it would show up in the Apache error logs, PHP error logs, and/or MySQL error logs. If it's a simple thing like email mismatch or incorrect password, etc. you'd need to check your AD logs for any reason the provided auth information was not accepted.

KevinTheJedi Thanks Kevin. Its working now. I logged in with a local account, disabled the AD plugin, waited for about 30 seconds and then re-enabled it and now it takes AD username and/or email address. It stopped working after I upgraded to 1.15.7, so I thought that I broke something in one of the modified files I have so I rolled back to .6 and it was still broken. I can't explain it.
