Hi,
I've just installed 1.7 and im having a few issues establishing an incoming email connection.
I initially tried POP, i figured it couldnt be much different to the settings outlook asks for...
Host: mail.domainname.com
Port: 25
Protocol: POP
Encryption: None
Gives me
Invalid login. Check POP settings
I even tested using my personal email account details, and its always the same thing. IMAP seems to take about 1min to think about it then fail, POP takes all of 5sec and it knows. iirc IMAP times out its attempt maybe.
So i did a bit of googling and found a thread on here and the suggestion was just try pipping. I'd seen pipping in the OST Wiki, it sounded above my access levels but looking into it its just cPanel access which is fine.
When complete you will see:
<EMAIL><USERMENTION username="domain">@domain</USERMENTION> to |/home/<USERNAME>/public_html/osticket/api/pipe.php
assumption is you unpackaged osticket.tar in /home/USERNAME/public_html/
Pipe to a Program path: if you have a leading '/' cPanel will use the path you enter, if you do not have '/' cPanel will create it relative to your home directory
pipe.php should have hashbang at the top of the file: #!/usr/bin/php -q
Make pipe.php executable chmod 755 pipe.php
Enable email piping in admin panel Settings -> preference
I've got
support@DOMAIN.com to |/home/DOMAIN/public_html/support/api/pipe.php
I've not touched pipe.php, its still got the 'hashbang' line untouched.
Then 'Enable email piping in admin panel Settings -> preference' doesnt exist, i cannot find any such option anywhere in the admin panel which even mentions pipping.
The Admin > Settings > Emails page has the option of enabling POP/IMAP or auto-cron, but nothing about pipping.
When i go to Emails > Diagnostic and send myself a test email, that works fine, however if i try and send a support ticket to OST from my personal account, i get a bounce-back email.
