How to disable ticket creation on response to closed ticket?

Hi.

I want to totally disable answering to closed tickets by email.
There is an option to do this, but then new ticket is created instead of ticket reply, which is not desired.

I looked at cron email fetcher code and this looks a bit complex.
I need to find the part of code that creates a new ticket on response to closed ticket, and disable this.

I'm not aware of a way to do this with out altering the code. I do not know where or how you would alter the code to achieve this.
